....An invitation....

....yes, an invitation to a magical wood to meet a very special tree...

....and when you get an invitation such as this, you pack a picnic, take an offering, and prepare yourself to meet some interesting characters on root....

.....But first you have to get past the sleeping Dragon....so be careful of those pesky sticks and twigs underfoot, you dont want to wake a sleeping Dragon.......they dont like it....

....I wonder who lives in there?.....could be a hobbit....

....yes, there he is sitting on a log....i nearly walked straight past him...

....beautiful fallow deer.....oh so friendly....

....we stopped to ask this snoozing mushroom which way to the tree, and he told us very sleepily to just keep following the giants foot prints.....

....this cheeky chappy wanted our picnic basket in exchange for valuable instructions on how to find the magical tree.....i thanked him muchly for wanting to help but said that we were doing just fine, and gave him a banana........he seemed ok with that.....

.....i think we're getting nearer....

...oh yes, there he is....

.....i wanted to stay and chat with him all day....

.....we talked off herbs and plants and talking to animals, we talked about the weather and off bluebells and keeping bees.....i showed him cats cradle and other things with string, and he showed me how to watch clouds and to know when a storm is coming.....

.....I left an offering of home baked cakes and a small sea shell, and a promise to return before the seasons change again....

....a perfect day....

...Busy, busy, busy....

...Oh my dear blog followers, its been busy  busy  busy here at the nook.....
....hence my lack of visiting this little craft space of mine....

....its that time of year when there are things that you put of all year round on the diy front, that now need doing.....and what really needed doing was changing our stairs carpet and repainting that deep deep stair well and landing....oh and my little work room...

....so these last two weeks its painting painting painting, taking up carpet, repairing stairs and replacing some 200 year old floor boards.....

....there has been a lot of dust, a lot of sweat and a lot of cups of tea drunk....

....but now its all done and i am now enjoying so very much that wonderful feeling of new new carpet under foot......and it feels gooooood....

....Hooray....a job that i havent been looking forward to is now all done, just a wee bit of new skirting to fit and perhaps a new door on the bathroom, but thats for another time, we are both so tired at the moment and the heat isnt helping with that much either, so a little break is much needed.....

.....oh and i almost forgot....remember the knitted seagulls we were yarn bombing for our town....

....well, apparantly the miserable local council wouldnt let us string them up round the band stand so another loccation had to be looked for sharpish......

.....so here they are all wrapped round the railings on the sea front, i nipped down early before work yesterday to take a quick couple of photos to show you........before they all get pinched.........ha...

....these little dearies are so lovely to knit i am going to knit myself one, to keep just for me, i would dearly love to share the pattern with you so you could knit one too, but the pattern is the property of the lady who runs the yarn bombing group so i dont get the rights to share it......it is a shame as it is a really good pattern and i think you would like it a lot.....

......so, just one last thing before i go, if you would like more regular updates from my little nook space and see more of whats going on here, then please come and find me over at Instagram, i do add photos and snippets more regularly over there and it would be just wonderful so see you there....

.....just type in 'thecraftenook' in your search on Instagram, and there i shall be....

Toodles for now

....Glastonbury festival 2014....

....Hello my dear blog friends, well i know its been a week since our return, but Mr P and I have been catching up on sleep and an endless laundry pile, plus having to return the very next day to work was quite an ordeal, anyway, words fail me....

the festival was...brilliant..wonderful...painful...exhausting...muddy...wet...grim at times....and fantastic, my little legs hurt like mad from all the walking and my poor big toe is still bruised from being bashed about in wellington boots for four days....but we saw some amazing acts, i cant describe the experience to you......but here are a whole bunch of random photos that i took over the whole four days.......enjoy...x

...i love 'Elbow', and it was the best thing ever to see them live.....especially Guy....

 ....Newton Faulkner...

....After dark everyone heads for 'Shangria la and Shangria hell'....
....an enormous endless metropolis city...which hid night clubs inside these blown up buildings....

.....vehicles embedded in the tops of buildings....the whole thing was made from film set props....

.....a huge enormous dance area outside with loud pumping music and this whole wall was flashing.....

 ....amazing Robert Plant....

 .....Metallica....

...this real robot was incredible, he was just wandering about singing to people, with the voice of Steve Coogan......so funny...

....one of the many interesting people to see.....people watching is great.....

....Yoko Ono.....not much singing going on here.......more shouting really!!!!

....one of the many many fields was the Green fields and hippy fields, i liked it here a lot, i could of stayed here the whole time.......with absolutely loads and loads of workshops....from bunting making to stone carving.......everything....

....it wouldn't of course be Glastonbury without all the mud.........mud mud mud .....oh my.....

....an exhausted hippy.....bless him....

....there are many more photos but i didn't want to bore you with much of the same, and off course many more bands that we saw.......Kasabian...Goldfrapp.....Hazel O'connor....Dr Feelgood....Dolly Parton....so so so much to see and do, that you just cant fit it all in.....we didn't even see it all.....
.....perhaps we will next year.....oh yes, definitely going again....it really is an eye opener with hundreds of acts and hundreds of bands playing, some we wanted to see were on at the same time as others so we had to choose all the time, but it didn't matter, about 130,000 people went to this event and that was 130,000 happy people, i didn't witness one fight, one row, or any bad feeling, every person there was there to have a good time and a good time it was indeed.........even with the mud and rain.....

See you soon friends....peace...x
